Russia has threatened to ban citrus imports from Egypt after the North African country failed to approve Russian wheat shipments. Several wheat cargoes suspected of containing traces of ergot fungus have been held up at Russian ports. Egypt's state grain buyer purchased 540,000 tonnes of the grain from Russia in July before tightening restrictions on ergot. The sales were originally agreed to under a rule allowing 0.05 percent ergot, a common international standard, and Russia wants that agreement upheld. Russian wheat export prices fell last week, partly due to delayed supplies to Egypt, and are expected to remain under pressure until the situation is resolved.

An incoming sandstorm is hitting the city, causing poor visibility and gusty winds. Egyptian officials say Cairo International Airport closed to arrivals for 70 minutes, after the sandstorm reduced visibility to 150 metres. The Egyptian aviation authority says today's departures from Cairo's airport haven't been affected. But it adds that the country's second-busiest airport in Alexandria has been closed to arrivals and departures, with flights being diverted to other airports unaffected by the storm. This video covers adjusting gas pressure on the FN 49. In this video I unscrew the Gas Cylinder Sleeve to open the Gas Port entirely. This will reduce pressure on the Piston, and hopefully will reduce the amount of damage on ejected casings. Damaged brass is not the main reason I wanted to adjust gas pressure. I care about the gun, and damaged brass indicates that excessive pressure exists, and that the whole system is being overworked, including bolt carrier, gas piston, ejector, extractor, etc. Originally I thought this video will have a part 2. In part 2, I would have taken this rifle to the range, and start screwing the Gas Cylinder Sleeve back over the Gas Port to increase pressure on the piston, gradually, one shot at a time, until desired ejection was reached, and there were no si...

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Libya, Bahrain, and Maldives severed their ties with Qatar on Monday, accusing it of supporting terrorism and opening up the worst rift in years among some of the most powerful states in the Arab world. Iran, long at odds with Saudi Arabia and a behind-the-scenes target of the move immediately blamed President Donald Trump for setting the stage during his recent trip to Riyadh. Gulf Arab states and Egypt have long resented Qatar's support for Islamists, especially the Egyptian-based Muslim Brotherhood, which they regard as a dangerous political enemy. US Secretary of State Tillerson on Monday called on Gulf states to “sit down together” to work out their differences to resolve a deepening diplomatic rift with Qatar. ...

Phoenecians, the ancient inhabitants of modern-day Lebanon, were known to be expert sailors. Through the eyes of one these seaworthy Phoenecians, we will visit the ancient ports of Byblos, Rhodes, Tharros, Motya, and the famous Roman naval base at Carthage. Phoenicia (UK /fɨˈnɪʃə/ or US /fəˈniːʃə/; from the Greek: Φοινίκη, Phoiníkē; Arabic: فينيقية‎, Finiqyah) was an ancient Semitic civilization situated on the western, coastal part of the Fertile Crescent and centered on the coastline of modern Lebanon and Tartus Governorate in Syria. All major Phoenician cities were on the coastline of the Mediterranean, some colonies reaching the Western Mediterranean. It was an enterprising maritime trading culture that spread across the Mediterranean from 1550 BC to 300 BC. The Phoenicians used the galley, a man-powered sailing vessel, and are credited with the invention of the bireme. They were famed in Classical Greece and Rome as 'traders in purple', referring to their monopoly on the precious purple dye of the Murex snail, used, among other things, for royal clothing, and for their spread of the alphabet (or abjad), from which almost all modern phonetic alphabets are derived. Phoenicians are widely thought to have originated from the earlier Canaanite inhabitants of the region. Although Egyptian seafaring expeditions had already been made to Byblos to bring back "cedars of Lebanon" as early as the 3rd millennium BC, continuous contact only occurred in the Egyptian New Empire period. In the Amarna tablets of the 14th century BC, people from the region called themselves Kenaani or Kinaani (either the same as the Canaanites, or the Kenanites/Cainanites spoken of the Septuagint version of Gen. 10:24), although these letters predate the invasion of the Sea Peoples by over a century. Much later, in the 6th century BC, Hecataeus of Miletus writes that Phoenicia was formerly called χνα (Latinized: khna), a name Philo of Byblos later adopted into his mythology as his eponym for the Phoenicians: "Khna who was afterwards called Phoinix". Phoenicia is really a Classical Greek term used to refer to the region of the major Canaanite port towns, and does not correspond exactly to a cultural identity that would have been recognised by the Phoenicians themselves. It is uncertain to what extent the Phoenicians viewed themselves as a single ethnicity and nationality. Their civilization was organized in city-states, similar to ancient Greece. However, in terms of archaeology, language, life style and religion, there is little to set the Phoenicians apart as markedly different from other Semitic cultures of Canaan. As Canaanites, they were unique in their remarkable seafaring achievements.

As a vital part of the ancient maritime Silk Road that linked China with southern Europe, Egypt's Suez Canal is expected to play a new role in the "Belt and Road" initiative that China has put forward, an Egyptian government advisor told China Central Television (CCTV) on Sunday. Since last August when Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi inaugurated the New Suez Canal project, the vital water way has become ready to accommodate more ships and larger ones too. And this first national project of the Egyptian President's was just the beginning of a bigger Egyptian dream that will be constructed on the canal's desert shores. Cairo believes that these projects are a natural fit to China's "Belt and Road" initiative which could revive the ancient route. "President Xi Jinping declared an important message for the 'Road and Belt,' for reviving the Silk Road in 2013. And in 2014 Egypt decided to start digging the canal and Egypt finished the project in one year," said Mahmoud Allam, a government advisor with Egypt's Ministry of Transportation. Analysts believe that the extensions made to the canal and possible investment projects will be among Egypt's priorities in the discussions between Sisi and visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping, who arrived in Cairo on Wednesday afternoon. The Suez Canal developmental project is considered Egypt's economic salvation. Trade and industrial zones will be built to turn Egypt a business hub across the region. "(If) the 'Road and Belt' starts in China's ports, actually this is the other end of it. Connecting both, the opportunities here will open for the world and particularly for Chinese companies to come and send their basis here to manufacture, and assemble and use this strategic location to move from it to the major markets in Europe, Africa and the Middle East," said Allam. It's also a vision that China has already started even before the latest extension of the Suez Canal. A Chinese industrial zone is already under construction and it will be capable of accommodating up to 200 factories. It's a highly contentious issue in Egypt - are the small islands of Sanafir and Tiran owned by Egypt or Saudi Arabia? Located between both countries at the top of the Red Sea, they're considered to be strategically important because of their proximity to ports in Jordan and Israel. After months of debates and protests in Cairo, the territorial dispute is back in the parliamentary spotlight. A committee of Egyptian MPs has approved an agreement to hand over control of the islands to Saudi Arabia, despite the High Administrative Court in January declaring the plan unconstitutional. What's the real story behind the sell-off? A sandstorm has been causing problems across Egypt today. Officials say Cairo International Airport turned away arrivals for a short while as the storm developed, while several ports were also closed due to strong winds. Dust obscures Cairo's skyline. Four flights were apparently diverted to another airport, while a fifth returned to Amman in Jordan. The state news agency says the port at the coastal city of Alexandria and the nearby Dekheila port were both closed because of strong winds. The usually idyllic holiday destination Dahab was also hit by the bad weather - forcing lifeguards to rescue swimmers and divers from rough seas. =========================================================== Clients are reminded: (i) to check the terms of their licence agreements for use of content outside news programming and that further advice and assistance can be obtained from the AP Archive on: Tel +44 (0) 20 7482 7482 Email: info@aparchive.com (ii) they should check with the applicable collecting society in their Territory regarding the clearance of any sound recording or performance included within the AP Television News service (iii) they have editorial responsibility for the use of all and any content included within the AP Television News service and for libel, privacy, compliance and third party rights applicable to their Territory. https://youtu.be/cH_uQCITQO0 A walk in Tanis ancient Djanet in the Egyptian Nile delta, capital at one time, of the whole country. A very important city because the nearest ports to the Asiatic sea border. With the decline of Egypt’s Asiatic empire in the late 20th dynasty, the capital was shifted from Per Ramessu, and the 21st-dynasty pharaohs made Tanis their capital. A very large temple of Amon was built, mainly with stone from the ruins of Per Ramessu. A lot of magnificent treasures were found there. But today there are a lot of new things to say about it, because the very large area is full time still open to excavations...I will explain it in my future lectures...Enjoy this simple, poetic walk meantime...Antoine Gigal www.gigalinsights.com ** Follow me on my FB : https://www.facebook.com/antoinegigal & on : https://www.facebook.com/GigalEgypt/?fref=ts ***Follow me on my INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/antoine_gigal/ ***And please sign up to my Newsletter on my blog: http://www.gigalinsights.com *** And my YOUTUBE channel : https://www.youtube.com/user/antoineGigalEGYPT ***Suivez moi su FB (compte plein) : https://www.facebook.com/antoinegigal & sur FB ( même contenu) : https://www.facebook.com/GigalEgypt/?fref=ts ***Suivez moi sur mon INSTAGRAM : https://www.instagram.com/antoine_gigal/ ***Et abonnez vous à la Newsletter de mon blog en fr: http://gigalinsights.com/?lang=fr *** Et à ma chaine YOUTUBE en français et en anglais : https://www.youtube.com/user/antoineGigalEGYPT

In part 2, I would have taken this rifle to the range, and start screwing the Gas Cylinder Sleeve back over the Gas Port to increase pressure on the piston, gradually, one shot at a time, until desired ejection was reached, and there were no signs of excessive gas pressure with the ammo I use (PRVI 196gr SP 8MM Mauser). I have taken this rifle to the range, with the gas port completely open, and it ejected fine from the first shot to the last. I used both the PRVI PPU ammo and the Yugo sniper ammo. Both ejected without damage. So the gas port will stay open on this rifle. It shot nice and smooth.

Egypt said it would close all the air and marine spaces, ports for all the Qatari transportation means to preserve country. Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE took similar decisions by closing all land, sea, and air contacts with their fellow Gulf country now.
